If you’re looking to impress—or you want to go somewhere fun to escape the scent of stuffy tasting menus that seem to have infiltrated London at a rapid rate—we strongly suggest making a reservation at the brilliant Kioku by Endo. This Japanese-meets-Mediterranean from third-generation sushi master Endo Kazutoshi soars above the city (figuratively as well as physically) on the 6th floor of Raffles London at The OWO off Whitechapel. It’s head and shoulders above so many other places in town and still deserving of the sky-high praise it received when it opened earlier this year. The menu remains irresistibly delicious and thank god. The marinated potato salad is still addictively rich and smoky-sweet and even better when paired with their smooth Padron & Shiso cocktail. Do not overlook the Tubetti pasta, green bean pesto, shiitake and potato foam, dense with sticky sweetness, or the Sea bass steamed in kombu, ginger sauce, glistening with mussel glaze. Every single bite is as delicious as the setting which feels sexy and slick as hell. Plus the painstaking design is as fresh now as it was at the opening party in shades of light wood and 360 views of our wonderful capital. V.F. top tip? Get Merlin to talk you through their enviable wine list—his anecdotes of where he has tried each one is worth the trip alone. Kioku by Endo

Whether you’re soaking up the Mediterranean sun, retreating to the countryside or facing London’s unpredictable summer weather one thing is for sure: a fabulous new dress is essential. But let’s leave behind the uninspired florals and the shapeless linen dresses that seem to be everywhere right now. What you really need is the ultimate summer dress—something bold, breezy and effortlessly stylish, like those worn by chic European women who always seem to have it all figured out (you know the ones). If you’ve ever asked one of these effortlessly elegant women where her dress is from, she’s probably told you it was picked up from some obscure market in France. But the truth? It’s often from Kalita, the go-to resort wear brand known for their timelessly elegant dresses handcrafted by artisans in Bali. So now is the time to bag yourself one. Kalita
